iOS · Screen Time, with a spine

Guard your attention.

Clutch closes the door on the apps that derail you — and when you go to open it anyway, Lumi is standing there asking what you're actually doing.

In private testing on iOS. App Store release coming.

The loop

Decide once. Argue later.

Most blockers give you a wall and a "disable" button three taps away. Clutch makes the exit cost something — and makes it a conversation.

01

Plan the night before

Set tomorrow's goals and sessions while you're still the version of you that has good judgement.

02

Clutch closes the door

Apps, categories and websites go dark on schedule — enforced by iOS Screen Time, so it holds even when Clutch isn't running.

03

Lumi answers the knock

Reach for a blocked app and you get a coach, not a paywall. Make your case. Sometimes you'll win. Often you won't.

04

Prove you did it

Goals close with evidence — a photo, a location, a calendar event — not by tapping "done" and moving on.

What's inside

Every part of it is about one thing: friction where you need it.

Real blocking

App-by-app and whole-category blocking through Apple's Screen Time framework, plus site blocking inside Clutch's own browser. Schedules, on-demand sessions, and custom focus modes.

Lumi, the coach

Not a motivational quote generator. Lumi knows what you said you'd do today, notices when you start drifting, and talks to you about the gap. Warm by default. Firmer when you're stalling.

Proof, not promises

Close a goal with a camera shot, a location check, or a calendar event that actually happened. A nightly sweep reconciles what you claimed against what you can show.

Streaks that mean something

A day counts when the ledger says it does — sessions held, goals verified, attempts resisted. No participation trophies for opening the app.

Weekly Wrapped

Sunday night, Clutch shows you the week you actually had: focused hours, where the leaks were, which goals kept slipping. Reflection prompts, not a dopamine chart.

Friends who can see

Share a coarse focus signal with a few people who'll notice if you go quiet — and let them send you a roast when you deserve one. Opt-in, low-resolution, no feed to perform for.

On your lock screen

Live Activity and Dynamic Island keep the running session in view, plus home-screen widgets for today's goals. You shouldn't have to open the app to stay honest.

Lumi calls you

A real ringing check-in when a session is about to start or you've gone dark on the day's plan. Harder to swipe away than a notification.

Pro · rolling out

Read this before you buy anything

Clutch is friction, not a cage.

On iOS, no app can truly lock you out of your own phone. A determined person can revoke Screen Time access, change the clock, or delete Clutch. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.

What Clutch does is make the escape hatch slow, visible and slightly embarrassing — a conversation you have to actually have, a counter that remembers, a friend who might notice. For most people, most days, that's the difference. If you want a cage, buy a lockbox.

Pricing

The blocking is free. Forever.

Paying should unlock a better coach, never a working product. Blocking, goals and streaks are not behind the paywall and won't be.

Questions

The ones worth asking.

Can I just delete the app when it annoys me?

Yes. You can also turn on removal protection, which routes deletion through your Screen Time passcode — enough friction to stop an impulse, not enough to stop a decision. That's deliberate.

Does Clutch see what I do in my apps?

No. Apple's Screen Time framework hands apps an opaque token — Clutch can tell iOS "block this," but it never learns which app it is, and it cannot read anything inside your apps.

What Clutch does hold is what you type into it: your goals, your messages to Lumi, and any verification photos you choose to submit.

Where do my verification photos go?

Photos are captured live in-app — there's no photo library picker to upload an old shot from. They're used to check the goal you claimed and nothing else. See the privacy policy for the specifics on storage and deletion.

Is Lumi just ChatGPT with a mascot?

Lumi runs on a large language model, yes — but the interesting part isn't the model, it's the context. Lumi is given what you committed to, how long you've been stalling, what you've already tried to open, and what your week has looked like. That's why the pushback lands.

Lumi also can't let you out. Ending a session is gated by the app's own rules, never by talking the coach into it.

Which iPhones does it work on?

iPhone on a recent iOS, with Screen Time available. Some features — Live Activity, Dynamic Island — depend on your hardware. Clutch is iOS-only today; a Mac companion is in the works.

What happens if I cancel Pro?

You drop to Free. Blocking, sessions, goals, verification and your streak all keep working — you lose proactive Lumi, unlimited chat and the voice features. Nothing you built gets held hostage.
